Lane Jr. Memorial Bridges - Purpose: - To restrict unauthorized vessel and person entry for safety and environmental protection during the events - Enforcement Details: - Lake St. Clair: Safety zone within a 560-foot radius of the fireworks launch site - Chesapeake Bay: Safety zone adjacent to Sandy Point State Park and the bridge spans - Entry into these zones is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port or their designated representative - No OEMs, vendors, products, or services are being procured; this is a regulatory action, not a procurement opportunity

Description

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone in the navigable waters of the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis, MD, adjacent to the shoreline at Sandy Point State Park and the spans of the William P. Lane Jr. Memorial Bridges. This safety zone is to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment during a kayak race scheduled for September 13, 2026. Entry into the zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port or their designated representative. The safety zone will be enforced from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the event day.
