The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), is seeking certified rigging and relocation services for specialty optical tables used in the Clinical Advanced Microscopy and Biophotonics Laboratory. - Government Buyer: - National Institutes of Health (NIH) - National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) - Office of Acquisitions - OEMs and Vendors: - Newport (manufacturer of at least one optical table) - General Machine Shop, Inc. (exclusive handler and warehouse custodian) - Products/Services Requested: - Relocation of six optical tables of various sizes: - 4x12 optical table (outdated, moved to surplus) - 4x12 optical table (new, delivered from warehouse) - L-shaped configuration (4x12 and 5x6 tables, unbolted and re-bolted) - 5x12 optical table - 4x5 optical table - 5x8 optical table - Rigging, unbolting, re-bolting, delivery, placement, and removal of tools/equipment - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Certified rigging company required due to specialized equipment - Sole source justification: General Machine Shop, Inc. has exclusive custody and handling capability for the equipment - Relocation must be coordinated with NIH construction schedules; each table move takes approximately half a day - Safety and proper handling of heavy, sensitive laboratory equipment is emphasized - Period of Performance: - From contract award up to one year after award; actual move date contingent on construction timelines - All technical details, part numbers, and quantities are specified in the Statement of Work and Notice of Intent attachments.
