NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking to procure a QUANTAX XFlash 7 EDS package from BRUKER AXS LLC as a sole source contract. - Procurement includes: - QUANTAX XFlash 7 EDS package with QEDS-100-129 XFlash 7100 light element detector - QUANTAX WDS Base System with advanced signal processing and calibration - QUANTAX Workstation Computer (Windows 11) and TFT LCD Monitor - Comprehensive ESPRIT software suite for spectral acquisition, quantitative analysis, imaging, mapping, and data management - Printed user manual - Installation and 2 days of on-site advanced training by a service engineer - Equipment features high-resolution, high-speed detection, advanced pulse processing, and motorized detector retraction - Sole source justification: BRUKER AXS LLC is the only identified provider - NASA requests capability statements from interested vendors to determine if competition is possible; no quotes are being solicited - NAICS code: 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) - Period of performance: 4 months after receipt of order (ARO) - Opportunity is for a single package/system; no specific dollar value provided - All products and software are from BRUKER AXS LLC - Installation and training services are included - Potential competitors are other analytical instrument manufacturers specializing in EDS/WDS systems

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE NOTICE ID IF SUBMITTING A CAPABILITY STATEMENT. 

 Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Bruker XFlash 7 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to BRUKER AXS LLC: 5465 E CHERYL PKWY | FITCHBURG, WI 53711 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that BRUKER AXS LLC is the sole provider of Bruker XFlash 7.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 9/3/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

NOTE:  Quotes received in response to this notice will NOT be considered and will not be evaluated by NASA’s Technical End User Team. We are currently only requesting Capability Statements.
