The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is announcing a virtual public meeting of the IRS Advisory Council (IRSAC). - Purpose: To discuss recommendations for future IRSAC reports - Topics include: - Enhancements to IRS operations - Administrative and policy changes to improve taxpayer experience and service - Compliance and tax administration issues - Information reporting matters - Issues concerning tax-exempt and government entities - No procurement, products, or services are being requested - No OEMs, vendors, or part numbers are involved - This is an informational and advisory event open to the public

Description

The Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council will hold a public meeting virtually via Microsoft Teams on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. The meeting will discuss topics that may be recommended for inclusion in a future report of the Council, including enhancements to IRS operations, suggestions for administrative and policy changes to improve taxpayer experience and service, compliance and tax administration, information reporting issues, and matters concerning tax-exempt and government entities. Members of the public planning to attend should register by September 8 by contacting the Office of National Public Liaison. The meeting agenda will be posted online prior to the meeting at the IRSAC web page.
