This notice announces the completion of an inventory of human remains and funerary objects by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). - Government Buyer: - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District - Department of the Interior, National Park Service - Inventory Details: - Human remains representing at least 10 individuals - 357 lots of associated funerary objects - Objects sourced from three archaeological sites in Bath County, Virginia: Perkins Point (44BA3), Huffman (44BA5), and Noahs Ark (44BA15) - Funerary Objects Include: - Copper beads and bead fragments - Bifaces, lithic flakes, lithic tool fragments - Ceramic sherds - Botanical and faunal material - Red ochre, possible bead, unmodified stone - Cultural Affiliation: - Established with the Monacan Indian Nation - Notable Requirements: - No hazardous substances used in treatment - Repatriation requests may be submitted by eligible Indian Tribes, Native Hawaiian organizations, or lineal descendants - No OEMs or vendors involved; this is not a procurement or award notice

This notice announces the completion of an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains of at least 10 individuals and 357 lots of associated funerary objects from archaeological sites in Bath County, Virginia. A cultural affiliation has been established between these remains and the Monacan Indian Nation. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after September 30, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be submitted to the authorized representative.
