This notice concerns the intended repatriation of cultural items by Sonoma State University, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and the National Park Service. - Government buyer: - Sonoma State University - Department of the Interior - National Park Service - No OEMs or commercial vendors are involved - Products/services requested: - Repatriation of one lot of soil samples (unassociated funerary objects) - These items were excavated in 1991 near Timber Cove and are affiliated with the Kashia Band of Pomo Indians of the Stewarts Point Rancheria, California - Unique requirements: - Notice issued under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) - Requests for repatriation may be submitted by lineal descendants, Indian Tribes, or Native Hawaiian organizations - No commercial procurement or contract is involved

Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), Sonoma State University intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of unassociated funerary objects and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The items include soil samples removed during an excavation in 1991 near Timber Cove. Repatriation may occur on or after September 23, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to Sonoma State University.
