Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Disposal Services for Southeast Florida Cooperative Agencies

The City of Coconut Creek, as lead for the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group, is seeking proposals for comprehensive Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection and Disposal Services. - Participating agencies: Coconut Creek, Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, North Miami Beach, Tamarac, Coral Springs, and Pompano Beach - Scope includes: - Collection, categorization, packaging, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste streams (batteries, electronic waste, latex paint, compressed gases, bulbs, chemicals, pesticides, solvents, and more) - Mobilization for remote and fixed site collection events - Emergency response services - Supplies: poly and steel drums (5-85 gallon), flex bins, fluorescent bulb boxes (4-ft and 8-ft), vermiculite, and emergency supplies - Labor: technicians, drivers, project managers (regular, overtime, and emergency rates) - Waste disposal by type and weight (lead acid, NiCd/NiMH, lithium, alkaline batteries; petroleum oils; halogenated solvents; latex and oil-based paints; pesticides; corrosives; oxidizers; mercury; reactives; bulbs; compressed cylinders; electronic waste) - Vendors must be licensed hazardous waste generators, transporters, and handlers with at least two years of experience - Compliance required with EPA, DOT, and Motor Vehicle Safety Standards - Notable requirements: - Electronic proposal submission - Non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting - Other agencies may purchase under resulting contract - Required forms, certifications, insurance, and affidavits (anti-DEI, human trafficking, foreign countries of concern) - No specific OEMs or vendors named; incumbent is US Ecology Tampa, Inc. (Republic Services affiliate) - Contract term: initial two years, with options for two additional two-year extensions
