The City of Newport News is seeking bids from qualified firms to furnish service weapons, optics, and holsters. The contract aims to support agency growth, operational demands, and future expansions by purchasing weapons on an as-needed basis. The Newport News Police Department, Fire Marshals, Park Rangers, and City Security plan to transition their standard-issued Glock 45 caliber 9mm to Glock 45 COA generation 6 caliber 9mm by January 29, 2027, and provide firearms instructors with new weapons by October 16, 2026. Quantities are estimates and the City may purchase additional units during the contract.
