The City of Davenport, Iowa is seeking bids for the Goose Creek Park WQI Step Pools project, a stormwater management and environmental restoration initiative. - Government Buyer: - City of Davenport, Iowa - Davenport IDALS WQI Project - Purchasing Division - Project Scope: - Construction of a large bioretention cell and step pool stormwater conveyance system to collect and transport runoff into Goose Creek - Includes excavation, grading, storm sewer and subdrain installation, bioretention cell construction, step pool creation, pavement work, planting, seeding, mulching, erosion control, and site restoration - Coordination required with concurrent Goose Creek Park Environmental Restoration efforts - Products and Materials Requested: - Rain Guardian Bunker intake structure (patented recycled plastic dry filter box) - Golden Harvest limestone blocks (RiverStone Group, Inc. or equal) - Terry Ridge boulders and chinking stone (cascade mix, ASTM #2 gradation) - Terry Ridge erosion stone and wash-in material (riffle mix, silica gravel, clean sand) - HDPE storm sewer pipe (12-inch), perforated subdrain pipe (8-inch) - SW-512 precast intake structure (18-inch) - Crushed stone for pipe bedding and backfill (Class I, SUDAS/ASTM standards) - Storage aggregate (ASTM #57 or DOT #3), choker aggregate (ASTM #8 or DOT #21) - Modified soil mix (75% sand, 20% topsoil, 5% organic material) - Organic mulch, mulch control net (Type 2.A or 3.A RECP) - PCC pavement (Class C, reinforced) - Live plant plugs, shrubs, shredded hardwood mulch, wattle, rip rap (riffle and cascade mix), silt fence - Services Requested: - Construction survey - SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) management - General construction services for stormwater conveyance and water quality improvements - Quantities: - Over 13,000 cubic yards of excavation - 2,200 cubic yards of topsoil - 1,070 live plant plugs (procurement), 1,845 live plant plugs (procurement and installation), 18 shrubs - 36 limestone blocks, 30 linear feet of storm sewer, 215 linear feet of subdrain - 339 tons of storage aggregate, 63 tons of choker aggregate, 232 tons of riffle mix, 453 tons of cascade mix - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS) and Iowa DOT/ASTM standards - Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation - Alternate plant species and stone mixes allowed with prior approval - Specific insurance, bonding, and warranty requirements (bid bond, performance/maintenance bonds, certificates of insurance) - Completion required within 150 working days; liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for delays - Three-year plant establishment warranty, one-year maintenance warranty for live plantings - OEMs and Vendors: - Rain Guardian (intake structure) - RiverStone Group, Inc. Description

The City of Davenport is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the Goose Creek Park WQI Step Pools project. This project involves constructing a large bioretention cell and a series of stormwater conveyance step pools designed to collect and transport stormwater runoff from a roadway down a hill into Goose Creek. The work includes excavation, grading, bioretention cell construction, step pool stormwater conveyance, seeding, planting, mulching, erosion control, and related activities.
