Description

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas received an application from Hilcorp Alaska, LLC to establish a new gravel mine site and access road near DS15 within the Prudhoe Bay Unit on the North Slope. The proposed gravel mine site would cover approximately 64 acres for gravel extraction and an additional 27 acres for overburden and thermal berms. The access road would be about 1,000 feet long and 36 feet wide. The project will be conducted in two phases: construction of the access road in October 2026 and construction of the mine site in early 2027. All road construction material will be sourced from Put 23.
