Description

This solicitation is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 27-B002 for design-build pre-qualification services for the Building B Replacement Project at Long Beach City College. The project involves hazardous materials abatement, demolition of the existing Building B and parts of Parking Lot I, and construction of a new 43,100 GSF multilevel academic facility designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and exceed current energy code performance by at least 15%. The new building will support Fashion, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Anthropology programs and include site and system improvements such as utility upgrades, stormwater strategies, parking reconfiguration, and enhanced outdoor learning spaces. The estimated contract value is $56 million, with contract award expected in May 2027, design commencing immediately thereafter, demolition and construction starting November 2028, and substantial completion by August 2030.
