The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) intends to award a non-competitive, negotiated purchase order to Cummins Sales and Service for 15 OEM wiring harness assemblies. These assemblies connect the diesel propulsion module to the Cummins diesel engine on SMART's Nippon Sharyo diesel multiple unit passenger rail vehicles. The parts are special order and believed to be available only through Cummins Sales and Service. Vendors who believe they can supply these parts are invited to respond to this Notice of Intent by September 10, 2026, to determine if a competitive procurement is necessary.
