Description

The FAA proposes a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Embraer S.A. Model EMB-545 and EMB-550 airplanes. This AD addresses the unsafe condition caused by the possibility of the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) compartment door seal peeling off and becoming entangled with the RAT rotor. The proposed AD requires replacement of the RAT compartment door seal to prevent loss of RAT function, which could lead to loss of airplane controllability during an electrical emergency event. Comments on this proposal are due by October 13, 2026.
