Description
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to award a single firm fixed-price contract. Project work includes maintenance dredging of Fort Pierce Harbor with excavated material being placed onto Fort Pierce Beach. Due to the extensive hardbottom areas located offshore of the fill area, offshore pipeline access to the beach site is prohibited. Offloading the beach fill will be done inside the South Jetty of Fort Pierce Inlet, as shown on the drawings. A staging area and beach access to the beach placement area are located at the end of Seaway Drive and near the south jetty pumpout location. Work also includes but is not limited to environmental and water quality monitoring, sea turtle trawl sweeping (hopper dredges only), screening, beach tilling, beach fill quality control, construction support, and vibration control and monitoring. Work will be divided into a base and two options. A pre-bid site visit will be held on Monday, 28 September 2026 at 10:00 AM EDT. Refer to Site Visit in Section 00 73 00 of the Specifications for additional details regarding location and registration instructions. A pre-bid conference will also be held virtually on Tuesday, 29 September 2026 at 10:00 AM EDT. The anticipated period of performance associated with this requirement is: The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within SIXTY (60) calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed (NTP), (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than 30 May 2027, and be off the beach by 30 June 2027 for the entire contract work. The time stated for completion shall include final cleanup of the premises. NOTE: Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be issued between 60 and 90 calendar days after award or after all required bonds are in place, whichever is later. THIS WILL BE AN UNRESTRICTED SOLICITATION. U.S. COAST GUARD CERTIFIED DREDGE EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WORK.
