Description
The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters of the Upper New York Bay near Liberty Island and Governors Island to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with aerial displays. Entry into this zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector New York, or their designated representative. The safety zone will be enforced as needed during aerial displays from September 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026. The zone may have a radius of up to 500 yards within specified coordinates in the Upper New York Bay.
