The Town of Yarmouth is seeking a qualified contractor to deploy and operate hydraulic vacuum dredging and a high solids, high volume dewatering system to remove and dewater alum sludge from two holding lagoons. The project requires continuous 24-hour operation until completion, expected to take about 5 days. The contractor must provide experienced personnel trained in alum sludge removal and dewatering equipment operation. Approximately 5000m³ of alum sludge with 2-8 percent solids will be dewatered to a minimum of 20% solids and prepared for removal from the site. The Town of Yarmouth will handle containment and removal of the dewatered sludge as it is produced.
