CBP Texas Border Carrizo Cane Eradication and Vegetation Management Services

This opportunity from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), seeks integrated vegetation management services to eradicate Carrizo Cane and other invasive species along approximately 1,951 miles of the Texas southern border. - Government Buyer: - Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Information Technology Contracting Division - Scope of Work: - Integrated vegetation management services including manual, mechanical, and chemical treatments - Soil stabilization and re-seeding with approved Texas native species - Program management and reporting (weekly, monthly, and final project summary with GIS data) - Mobilization/demobilization of heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, mowers, trucks, etc.) - Chemical application via tractor, aquatic, helicopter, fixed wing, and drone methods - Aerial surveys and mapping - Labor categories: equipment operators, skilled laborers, certified aerial operators - Products and Materials Requested: - Glyphosate-based herbicides (e.g., Farm Works, Aqua Neat, Alligare Glyphosate 5.4, Airmax Shoreline Defense, Aqua master, Aqua-Sel, CornerStone 5 Plus) - Imazapyr-based herbicide (Polaris Rodeo) - Seed mixtures for re-seeding - Heavy equipment (chipper grinder, dozers, excavators, mowers, hydro mulcher, skid steers, water trucks, etc.) - Unique Requirements: - Large geographic scope (1,951 miles) - Treatments must improve line of sight for Border Patrol agents - Environmental and seasonal considerations for treatment methods - Compliance with federal regulations and security requirements - Office space in Laredo, TX for key personnel - Contract Structure: - Single award with a base year and three option years, plus potential 6-month extension - Estimated contract value ranges from $6M to $13.5M per year based on option periods - No specific OEMs are named for equipment; chemical products are from well-known manufacturers.

Description

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and United States (U.S.) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is acquiring services to treat approximately 1,951 miles of invasive vegetation species along the Texas southern international boundary within the United States of America to support U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) operations and prevent the spread of vegetation invasive species.

Integrated vegetation management treatments may include manual, mechanical, and/or chemical treatments of invasive species.  The vegetation treatments would prove effective in preventing the spread of invasive species and provide safety features, specifically line of sight opportunities, to USBP agents.

This will be a single award base year plus 3 option years.
