Statement Of Work SERVICES The contractor shall provide services for fire extinguishers, including monthly and annual maintenance, routine inspections, and testing such as: Monthly inspections Annual inspections Periodic hydrostatic tests for: 5lb. capacity dry chemical ABC fire extinguishers 10lb. CO2 fire extinguishers 10lb. Purple K fire extinguishers 50lb. CO2 fire extinguishers Contractor will conduct fire extinguisher monthly, annual, and hydrostatic tests for the Department of Veterans Affairs San Francisco Health Care System (VASFHCS) located in San Francisco, California. The contractor will develop and maintain records of annual service requirements and due dates for portable fire extinguishers within VASFHCS. All work shall comply with current NFPA 10 guidelines, including labor, materials, transportation, and testing. SCOPE OF WORK The contractor shall conduct onsite monthly and annual inspections at the specified locations. Responsibilities include: Identifying different types and sizes of extinguishers Creating and maintaining an inventory survey of the facility Maintaining a written inventory record with specific locations and due dates, in an MS-compatible document (Word or Excel) Assisting VASFHCS by providing old records of extinguisher locations The contractor shall provide backup fire extinguishers when necessary, including: 10 spare ABC 10lb extinguishers for the Safety Office Maintenance due dates and records must be current, with inspections scheduled at least two (2) weeks in advance with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Inspection tags shall include contractor identification information. Fire Extinguisher Inspection Requirements Each fire extinguisher requires annual and monthly inspections, including: Checking visibility and accessibility Examining physical state, labels, corrosion, dents, and damage Ensuring pressure gauge is in operable range Checking locking pin security Replacing extinguishers if necessary Ensuring maintenance tags or labels are attached and conform to NFPA guidelines Estimated Quantities Monthly fire extinguisher checks at locations such as: Location # of Fire Extinguishers FT Miley Main Campus ABC Dry 550 +/- 5% FT Miley Main Campus 10lb K 2 FT Miley Main Campus 50lb CO2 1 FT Miley Main Campus 10lb CO2 7 FT Miley Main Campus 15.5lb Halotron 6 CBOC (San Bruno) 15.5lb Halotron 1 CBOCs All Locations ABC Dry (Santa Rosa South not included) 110 +/- 5% Annual checks are scheduled once per year in January, with similar quantities and locations. The number of extinguishers may vary due to construction or renovation activities. Contractors must use their own extinguishers in off-limits areas, and third-party extinguishers are to be removed from construction zones.
