U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is implementing enhanced enforcement procedures to verify the accuracy of information provided by importers of record on CBP Form 5106. This enforcement, effective September 18, 2026, includes immediate voiding of importer of record numbers if inaccurate information is submitted. Importers or customs brokers must ensure all data, including addresses, phone numbers, and identification numbers, are accurate and complete to avoid enforcement actions. The initiative supports compliance with Executive Order 14411 and aims to strengthen customs enforcement for national security and trade law compliance.
