Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has received an application from Virginia Electric and Power Company, doing business as Dominion Energy Virginia, for the renewal of the early site permit (ESP) ESP-003 for the North Anna ESP site. The renewal would allow the licensee to reference ESP-003 in a construction permit or combined license application for an additional 20-year period beyond the current permit expiration. The North Anna ESP site is located in Louisa County, Virginia, and the current ESP-003 expires on November 27, 2027. The application for renewal has been available since July 14, 2026, and the NRC will provide public notices and opportunities for hearings during the renewal process.
