EPA Establishes SNURs for Multiple Chemical Substances Under TSCA

Description

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing significant new use rules (SNURs) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for certain chemical substances that were the subject of premanufacture notices (PMNs) and are also subject to an Order issued by EPA pursuant to TSCA. These SNURs require persons to notify EPA at least 90 days before commencing the manufacture or processing of any of these chemical substances for an activity designated as a significant new use. The notification initiates EPA's evaluation and the manufacture or processing may not commence until EPA completes its review and makes an appropriate determination. The rule is effective October 26, 2026, and aims to regulate the manufacture, processing, use, distribution, or disposal of these chemical substances to ensure compliance with TSCA Orders.
