Description

The Coast Guard is proposing to amend the special anchorage regulation in the Bahía de San Juan, PR, known as Anchorage D, by revising the anchorage boundaries to prevent overlap with deep draft commercial vessel traffic routes within the San Antonio Channel. This amendment aims to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with vessel traffic in the channel. The proposal includes shifting the Anchorage D boundary eastward and establishing a no-wake speed for vessels transiting through the anchorage to enhance safety and protect endangered species. The Coast Guard invites public comments on this proposed rulemaking.
