The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR), is seeking to assess the potential for Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) transmission to Hawaiian coral species and whether established treatments are effective in halting disease progression. The project involves conducting Hawaiian coral SCTLD treatment trials using amoxicillin paste and Ocean Alchemists Base2b treatments, documenting lesion progression, and sequencing coral fragments to evaluate treatment efficacy. The study aims to inform response and mitigation strategies in the event of an SCTLD outbreak in Hawaiian corals and aid in permitting processes for administering treatments in the Pacific. The contract period is approximately twelve months starting from the Notice to Proceed, with an option for a six-month no-cost extension.
