Description

The Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) Land Acquisition Grant program, established by Congress in FY 1997, provides matching grants to State agencies for land acquisition projects that conserve species habitat in perpetuity through fee simple acquisition or permanent conservation easements. The program aims to reduce conflicts between conservation of listed species and competing land uses associated with approved and permitted HCPs.
