Description

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is seeking public comment on its proposal to extend for an additional three years the information collection requirements contained in the agency's rule governing Standards for Safeguarding Customer Information (the Safeguards Rule). The Safeguards Rule requires financial institutions to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive written information security program. The current clearance for this information collection expires on December 31, 2026. Comments are invited from the public and stakeholders by October 26, 2026.
