Description

This notice announces the establishment of a matching program between the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service. The program aims to identify, prevent, and recover improper payments under the Do Not Pay program pursuant to 31 U.S.C. 3554. The matching program will become effective 30 days after publication on August 25, 2026, and will continue through September 10, 2029. Public comments on the proposed program are invited until September 24, 2026.
