Description

The County of San Mateo is seeking quotations from qualified proficiency testing providers accredited to ISO/IEC 17043 to supply forensic proficiency tests across various disciplines including Forensic Biology/DNA, Latent Prints, Firearms, Controlled Substances, Toxicology Testing and Calibration, and Crime Scene Investigation. The contract aims to establish a provider capable of delivering reliable, scientifically appropriate, and professionally administered proficiency testing programs to support laboratory quality assurance and accreditation requirements. Services include preparation and distribution of test materials, secure test administration, evaluation and documentation of results, and issuance of proficiency testing reports. The tests should be representative of casework and challenging enough to evaluate analyst competency, with results forwarded to the laboratory's accrediting body (ANAB).
