New York State Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) is offering grants to expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) program for children under age 5, excluding NYC. - Government Buyer: - New York State Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS), Bureau of Contract Management, Procurement Unit - OEMs and Vendors: - Dollywood Foundation (operator and book provider for DPIL) - Products/Services Requested: - Monthly distribution of high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age 5 - Books provided by Dollywood Foundation - Mailing and distribution services managed by Dollywood Foundation - Grant funding to cover up to 50% of monthly costs for books and mailing - Average cost: $2.60 per child per month; grant covers $1.30 per child per month - Grants range from $2,000 to $50,000 - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Eligible applicants: NYS 501(c)(3) libraries, public library systems, nonprofits, school districts, or BOCES - Must have or obtain a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DPIL within 60 days if selected - Local Program Partners must match grant funds dollar-for-dollar - Grant funds must be deposited with Dollywood Foundation - Not-for-profit organizations must be prequalified in the NYS Finance System (SFS) - Final reports required - Program excludes the five boroughs of New York City - Program aims to expand early childhood literacy statewide (excluding NYC)

Description

The New York State Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) is soliciting interest from qualified entities to participate in the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) program. This program mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until their 5th birthday. OCFS seeks to contract with organizations to provide financial assistance to new and established Local Program Partners to increase enrollment and expand coverage areas. Grants up to $50,000 will cover up to 50% of the monthly costs incurred by Local Program Partners for books and mailing. Eligible applicants include New York State 501(c)(3) libraries, public library systems, not-for-profit organizations, school districts, or BOCES outside New York City's five boroughs.
