The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking a contractor to repair and upgrade the evaporative cooling wall of the Stuppy System 2000 greenhouse at the E. "Kika" de la Garza Plant Material Center in Kingsville, Texas. - Government Buyer: - US Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) - E. Kika de la Garza Plant Material Center, Texas State Office - Scope of Work: - Replace the far (south) wall evaporative cooling system - Install new clear, corrugated, polycarbonate wall panels (Solar Soft Dynaglass or approved equivalent) - Replace all rusted galvanized wall support posts (including corner and side posts) - Install wiring compatible with the existing Wadsworth Controller System, using coated wiring for hot/humid conditions - Remove and dispose of old materials - Products/Materials Requested: - 1 evaporative cooling system - 9 corrugated wall panels - 1 miscellaneous panel (hex nuts, spacers, etc.) - 15 galvanized support beams - 12 galvanized corner support beams - 12 miscellaneous beams (nuts, brackets, etc.) - Services Requested: - Labor for cooling system replacement (16 hours) - Labor for support posts replacement (12 hours) - Labor for panel replacement (12 hours) - Project planning and weekly progress reporting - Unique Requirements: - All materials must match or be equivalent to existing greenhouse components - Wiring must be compatible with Wadsworth Controller System and withstand greenhouse conditions - Contractor must provide a project plan within 5 business days and weekly status reports - All work must be completed within 30 days after award - No specific OEMs or part numbers are listed, but Stuppy (greenhouse), Solar Soft Dynaglass (panels), and Wadsworth (controller system) are referenced as existing systems. - Set aside for small business concerns under NAICS code 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors).

Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 12FPC326Q0052 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for repairs to the E. “Kika” de la Garza Plant Material Center for an existing 36 ft by 60 ft Stuppy System 2000 greenhouse. The far wall which includes the evaporative cooling system needs to be replaced. This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors. The small business size standard is 19M. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.

The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and supervision required to construct  the project at outlined in statement of work attached hereto.
