Request for Information (RFI) Request for Information (RFI) Patient/Guest Wi-Fi Maintenance and Support Services VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) NAICS: 517112 Wireless Telecommunications Carriers (except Satellite) THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION

  1. Purpose The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Strategic Acquisition Office (SAO East), is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified and capable sources able to provide maintenance and support services for the existing Patient/Guest Wi Fi network at the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS). This RFI is strictly for market research and does not obligate the Government to award a contract.

  2. Background VAMHCS operates Patient/Guest Wi Fi services across the following medical centers:

  3. Baltimore VA Medical Center, 10 North Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201

  4. Loch Raven VA Medical Center, 3900 Loch Raven Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21218

  5. Perry Point VA Medical Center, 361 Boiler House Road, Perryville, MD 21902

The system includes switches, access points, routers, wireless LAN controllers, Dell servers with Cisco WCS and Microsoft ISA Server, various licenses, and bandwidth services. The Government seeks vendors capable of maintaining this infrastructure and delivering reliable turnkey support.

  1. Description of Required Capabilities Interested vendors should demonstrate the ability to:
  2. Maintain and support all existing Patient/Guest Wi Fi infrastructure equipment and software.
  3. Maintain dedicated internet bandwidth for the Wi Fi network, with the capability to upgrade as required.
  4. Provide remote monitoring and administrative capabilities, including blocking users, filtering ports, managing access points, and monitoring network health in real time.
  5. Deliver a turnkey, zero administration experience for end users with fast and reliable service.
  6. Meet response requirements for outages: Response within one workday and resolution within three workdays.
