Description

The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University intends to repatriate four cultural items classified as unassociated funerary objects, including three dish-shaped pottery vessels and one bat effigy pottery vessel. These items have cultural affiliation with the Quapaw Nation and were originally offered to the museum in 1973. Repatriation may occur on or after September 23, 2026, in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the museum's authorized representative.
