Description

The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) and the Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) seek comments on a proposal to prohibit the continued importation and marketing of certain previously authorized foreign-produced uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), UAS critical components, and certain communications and video surveillance equipment. These items are listed in section 1709 of the FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and have been determined to pose an unacceptable risk to U.S. national security and safety. The prohibition would not affect the continued use of already purchased equipment and would exclude importation or marketing for federal government use or commercial testing and product development. Comments are due by September 23, 2026.
