Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Cape Cod National Seashore (CACO) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes human remains of at least one individual and 337 associated funerary objects from archaeological excavations in Barnstable County, MA. The notice determines a cultural affiliation between these remains and objects and the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah). Repatriation may occur on or after September 23, 2026.
