Description
The Office of the State Archaeologist Bioarchaeology Program (OSA BP) has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory determined a cultural affiliation between the human remains and various Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The human remains represent one individual of Native American ancestry, discovered near Arnolds Park, IA, likely from a gravel quarry site. Repatriation of the remains may occur on or after September 23, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at the University of Iowa.
