Description

The Field Museum of Natural History has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory determined a cultural affiliation between the human remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The human remains represent at least one individual, identified with the tribal designation Ottawa, and were collected for the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after September 23, 2026.
