Description
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for the Southcoast Region has issued seasonal weight restrictions effective May 27, 2026. These restrictions apply to state-maintained roads in the Southcoast Region, including areas such as Angoon, Gustavus, Haines, and Kodiak. Specific individual road weight restrictions include the Chiniak Hwy (MP 20.1 to 33.39) limited to 50% of legal allowable weight. Additional restrictions may be imposed as necessary and enforcement will be conducted by the Department of Public Safety and the DOT/PF Division of Measurement and Standards and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
