Description

The Department of Labor and Workforce Development proposes regulation changes in Title 8 of the Alaska Administrative Code to increase certain exemption amounts under the Alaska Exemptions Act (AS 09.38) in response to changes in the Consumer Price Index. The changes affect exemptions including homestead, personal property, jewelry, tools of the trade, pets, motor vehicles, life insurance dividends, weekly net earnings, cash and liquid assets, and weekly disposable earnings. Written comments on the proposed changes are accepted until August 24, 2026. The Department will consider comments and may adopt the changes or take no action after the comment period.
