The Municipal Lands Trust Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, approved the renewal and amendment of a land lease to Bristol Bay Borough for a sanitary landfill on a 60-acre parcel of Municipal Trust Land in South Naknek, Alaska. The lease renewal extends the term by 55 years, continuing from the original expiration date of April 24, 2024, to April 24, 2079, and includes a waiver of the fair market value requirement. The disposal and waiver were approved by the South Naknek Village Council, the recognized appropriate village entity. The public is invited to comment on the proposed action by September 16, 2026.
