Description

KWH Constructors, Inc. is applying for a land use permit to temporarily use approximately 1 acre of the McKinley Village Pit, a designated material site located at milepost 230 of the Parks Highway. The site will be used as a staging and storage yard for approximately 600,000 pounds of structural steel in support of the Polychrome Pass Bridge project in Denali National Park. Initial mobilization involves delivery of steel via 25 to 30 truckloads using semi-trucks, trailers, forklifts, and possibly a small crane. No permanent or temporary structures or utilities are proposed, and public access will be restricted during operations. The requested term for the permit is from September 2026 through December 31, 2028.
