State of Alaska Seeks Multi-Award Contracts for Statewide Confidential Shredding Services

The State of Alaska is seeking to establish multi-award, non-mandatory term contracts for confidential shredding services across six geographic zones (Fairbanks, Anchorage, Mat-Su Valley, Kenai Peninsula, Juneau, and Ketchikan): - Government Buyer: - State of Alaska Department of Administration, Office of Procurement and Property Management (OPPM) - Managed by Joshua Hartman, Procurement Officer - Scope of Services: - Secure collection, shredding, and disposal of confidential documents for all Executive Branch Agencies and other state entities - Services available to the Alaska Legislative Branch, Alaska Court System, University of Alaska, Boards and Commissions, and all political subdivisions, cities, boroughs, and school districts - Shredding services provided on both scheduled (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly) and ad-hoc (as-needed) bases - On-site and off-site shredding options - Products and Quantities: - Secure bins for shredding: 9 gallon (10 units), 16 gallon (25 units), 32 gallon (20 units), 64 gallon (100 units) - Shredding by weight: 1-1000 lbs. (500 units), 1001-2000 lbs. (1500 units), 2001+ lbs. (2500 units) - Banker boxes: Standard (12" x 15" x 10", 100 units), Legal (15" x 24" x 10", 100 units) - Services Requested: - Taping boxes closed if open - Document retrieval prior to shredding - Unscheduled bin access for document retrieval - Ad-hoc pick-ups for large purges or office moves - Unique/Notable Requirements: - NAID certification required for vendors - Secure, fire-resistant, tamper-evident, and lockable containers must be provided - Certificates of Destruction required for each shredding event - Criminal background checks required for all personnel handling confidential documents - Compliance with federal and state regulations - Flexible contract structure allows multiple vendors to serve different zones and agencies - No specific OEMs are named; We-Shred is listed as a contractor in one attachment, but the RFP is open to all qualified vendors.

Description

The State of Alaska Office of Procurement and Property Management is seeking qualified offerors to provide shredding services across six zones in Alaska: Fairbanks, Anchorage, Mat-Su Valley, Kenai Peninsula, Juneau, and Ketchikan. This Request for Proposal aims to establish a multi-award, non-mandatory term contract for shredding services for Executive Branch Agencies and Political Subdivisions, with other state entities also eligible to purchase from the contracts. The contracts will be on an as-needed basis. Proposal submissions are due by 4:30 P.M. Alaska Daylight Time on September 11, 2026.
