The Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Wildlife Services, National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) plans to award $413,380 in cooperative agreement funding for a project investigating chronic wasting disease (CWD) as a population-limiting factor in Northern Colorado mule deer and white-tailed deer. The project includes capturing and GPS collaring deer, sampling for CWD and other pathogens, monitoring mortalities, analyzing samples, conducting spatial analyses, and preparing reports. The study will coordinate with similar studies in neighboring states to analyze data collectively. The project performance period is up to 24 months starting on or before September 30, 2026, with a possible 12-month extension.
