Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) invites public and federal agency comments on the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) continuing information collection. The extension includes continuation of current questionnaire content and data collection operations in 2027, as well as a systemic redesign of the NHIS to be implemented in 2028. The NHIS collects demographic and health-related information from a nationally representative sample of U.S. households to monitor public health trends and objectives. The redesign aims to incorporate mixed-mode data collection methods to reduce costs and improve respondent preferences while maintaining data quality.
