Description
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is soliciting sealed bids for the position of Trauma System State Medical Director. This role serves as the physician advisor for the State Trauma System, providing clinical leadership for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the statewide trauma system. The Medical Director collaborates with the State Trauma Program, Trauma Advisory Committee, hospitals, EMS, public health partners, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated, evidence-based trauma system that improves patient outcomes across Mississippi. The individual must be a practicing trauma surgeon licensed in Mississippi and currently practicing in a trauma center. Bids must be submitted electronically by September 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST.
