Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes extending an expiring information collection related to coal management activities in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA). This collection enables the BLM to assess federal coal resources, evaluate environmental impacts of coal leasing and development, determine qualifications of prospective lessees, and ensure compliance with applicable statutes and lease terms. The extension request includes an estimated 1,017 annual respondents with a total estimated annual burden of 19,897 hours and non-hour costs of $943,463. Comments on the information collection are invited until October 19, 2026.
