Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), California State University, Chico has completed an inventory of human remains and determined a cultural affiliation between the remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory identifies at least two individuals of Native American ancestry connected to the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians of California. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after September 21, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at California State University, Chico.
