This notice announces the Air Force Research Laboratory's intent to procure a DI40 Irradiator for the USAF Radiation Dosimetry Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. - Sole source procurement: Hopewell Designs is the only OEM/vendor mentioned. - Product required: Automated Irradiator Model DI-40 MAC BGN. - Must process 105 units each of Electronic Personal Dosimeter types Mk-II, N2, TruDose BG, and TruDose NG simultaneously. - Must comply with NIST NVLAP accreditation and federal regulations. - Must interface with EMDS software. - Includes accessories, operations and maintenance manuals, source certificates, and installation plan approved by USAFSAM. - Facility constraints: Installation plan must be approved by USAFSAM, considering facility size. - NAICS code: 334517 (Irradiation equipment manufacturing). - No part numbers or quantities specified in the notice, but the Statement of Work specifies 1 unit. - Responses may be considered to determine if competition is warranted, but competitive proposals are not currently requested. - Potential competitors include other irradiator manufacturers such as Nordion and Best Theratronics. - Estimated contract value likely in the $100,000 to $500,000 range based on similar equipment.

This requirement is for a DI40 Irradiator at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SINGLE SOURCE:  The NAICS Code is 334517. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), WPAFB, OH contemplates awarding a single source purchase order as authorized by RFO 12.201-2 to Hopewell Designs.  Please see the attachments to this notice for additional details.  This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals.  A determination by the Government for the competition of this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any responses should be e-mailed to the buyer at EMAIL no later than 7 September 2026 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time.  Only responses received by this date will be considered.  All questions should be directed to the buyer at chris.stokes.1@us.af.mil.
