Brunswick County Solid Waste Department is seeking qualified businesses to provide processing and transportation services for white goods and scrap metal at the county landfill in Bolivia, North Carolina. - Government Buyer: - Brunswick County Solid Waste Department - County Manager: Steven T. Stone - Products and Services Requested: - Processing and transportation of white goods (refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, dishwashers, clothes dryers, and similar large appliances) - Processing and transportation of scrap metal, including shredded metal, car batteries, marine and golf cart batteries, and propane tanks - Contractor must provide at least two 50-cubic-yard open-top roll-off containers - Recovery and recycling of refrigerants (CFCs and HCFCs), compressors, capacitors, and oil from white goods - Transportation of processed materials to a scrap metal dealer - Maintain detailed records and submit monthly reports and payments to the County - Quantities and Pricing: - Example haul: 198,000+ pounds of shredded metal processed in a single month - Pricing for shredded metal: approximately $0.0619 per pound - Pricing for car batteries: approximately $0.20 per pound - Unique Requirements: - Compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations - Contractor responsible for all costs, equipment, materials, and labor - Services must begin within 30 days of contract execution - Initial contract term is one year, with two automatic one-year renewal options - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or manufacturers are named in the solicitation - Southern Metals is referenced as a prior processor/hauler, but not as an OEM - Opportunity is open to all qualified businesses capable of meeting the outlined requirements.

Brunswick County is seeking proposals from qualified businesses to provide processing and transportation services for white goods and scrap metal collected at the Brunswick County landfill located at 172 Landfill Road NE, Bolivia, North Carolina. The contractor will be responsible for recovering and recycling refrigerants and other materials from white goods, and transporting processed materials to a scrap metal dealer. The scope includes providing containers, equipment, labor, and adhering to all applicable laws and regulations. Monthly reporting and payment remittance to the County are required.
