USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Subtropical Horticulture Research Station (SHRS) in Miami, FL is seeking a Cacao Consultant for stabilization and technical oversight of its cacao collection. - Government Buyer: - USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) - Subtropical Horticulture Research Station (SHRS), Miami, FL - ARS Acquisition and Property Division, Beltsville, MD - Vendors: - Pine Island Nursery (proposed vendor, led by Erik Tieg) - Services Requested: - Cacao Consultant services for assessment, stabilization, and rehabilitation of cacao plants damaged by cold stress - Technical oversight of cacao collection, including health assessment, corrective measures, propagation, preservation strategies, pest and disease management, and reporting - 8 hours per week, both on-site and remote work - Unique Requirements: - Consultant must have expertise in cacao cultivation, grafting, and leadership - Focus on maintaining research consistency and mitigating risk to an irreplaceable germplasm collection - Firm-fixed price contract for a 3-month (90-day) period - Compliance with FAR and AGAR clauses - Technical and price proposals required

The United States Department Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), SHRS, Miami, FL, intends to award on a single source basis for Cacao Consultant for the Stabilization and Technical Oversight.

Potential sources who believe they can provide the services listed are invited to submit a quotation by the response date listed, in accordance with the instructions provided herein.  All timely responses to this solicitation will be considered, however, the determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
