NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound, representing the U.S. Navy, is soliciting a firm fixed-price contract for the procurement of Methyl Amyl Ketone (MAK-R6K30) from Sherwin Williams Co or authorized distributors. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Navy - NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound - Office: PUGET SOUND (FISCPS) - OEM Highlight: - Sherwin Williams Co is the sole acceptable manufacturer due to proprietary requirements and NAVSEA instructions. - Products Requested: - 600 cans of Methyl Amyl Ketone (MAK), part number R6K30 - Each can is a 5-gallon container - Minimum 85% shelf life remaining at shipment - Used for cleaning SEAGUARD 5000HS, FAST-CLAD, SHERPLATE, POLYSILOXANE XLE-80, and ARMORSEAL 650 coatings - Delivery & Compliance: - Delivery to SRF and JRMC Yokosuka, Japan - Unique item identification required per DFARS 252.211-7003 - Compliance with hazardous material packaging and labeling regulations - Notable Requirements: - Brand name only: No substitutes permitted - Emphasis on product integrity and compatibility with Navy ship coating processes - Evaluation based on technical factors, delivery, price, and past performance

Description

Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound (FLCPS) intends to solicit for Methyl Amyl Ketone: MAK (R6K30) Brand Name: Sherwin Williams

This requirement is Brand Name to Sherwin Williams due to NAVSEA Instruction for continuous use of products that are used in the lifecycle of the ships coating process. Sherwin Williams Company controls and owns the charactersitics and production of the MAK R6K30 and is intellectual propterty. Use of substitute or similar items have the potential to cause adverse harm or structural integrity to the ships coating process. Interested companies may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, which will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  

The Government will evaluate the offeror’s price for reasonableness and past performance as part of the responsibility determination in accordance with RFO 12.203.

Quotes will be evaluated in accordance with RFO 12.203, the Government will select the most advantageous offer based on the following evaluation factors: technical including delivery date, price, and past performance in no order of relative importance.
