Guilford County Schools is seeking bids for drop-off improvements at Oak Ridge Elementary School. - Government Buyer: - Guilford County Schools - Purchasing Director: Velicia Moore - Project Engineer: Hugh Creed Associates, Inc., P.A., Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors - Project Scope: - Demolition and removal of portions of existing drive, parking, curb, and sidewalk - Installation of additional drive lane, new curb, new sidewalk, new parking, and new striping - Paving, grading, and landscaping included - Unit pricing required for paving and soil undercutting - Products & Services Requested: - Materials for drive lane, curb, sidewalk, parking, and striping - Paving additional area (fine grading, aggregate stone base, paving per typical pavement section) - Undercutting unsuitable soils and replacement with suitable compacted soil or ABC stone - Labor for demolition, removal, and installation - Unique Requirements: - 5% bid bond, 100% performance and labor/material payment bonds - One-year guarantee after acceptance - Compliance with North Carolina standards - Minimal disruption to school operations - Mandatory criminal background checks for workers - Good faith efforts to include Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation - Electronic and in-person access to plans/specifications - Bids not opened in public; minority businesses encouraged to participate

This solicitation is for the installation of drop off improvements at Oak Ridge Elementary School located at 2050 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, North Carolina. The work includes demolition and removal of portions of the existing drive, parking, curb, and sidewalk to install an additional drive lane, new curb, new sidewalk, new parking, and new striping. Sealed proposals are due by 2:00 PM on September 2, 2026, and bids will not be opened in public. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the site on August 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
